NSW: Man carrying drug filled safe to face court
A man has been arrested in Sydney's south west allegedly carrying a backpack containing
a safe filled with $300,000 worth of amphetamines.
Police say they stopped and searched a man after he was seen struggling along with
a heavy bag and backpack.
They allegedly found a safe in his backpack and the drugs were uncovered when it was
opened by a locksmith.
A 41-year-old Ingleburn man has since been charged with supplying a commercial quantity
of amphetamines and possessing cannabis.
He's been remanded in custody to face Campbelltown Local Court.
EDS: reissuing, clarifying that the man was arrested in Sydney's south west, rather
than the northern beaches as previously sent.
